Videocon A 31

Detailed Review

Display

This smartphone has a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels to offer. An approximate 1.8 inches of diagonal display is sported by Videocon A 31. It would be a tad tough to stick with the phone as its display size falls below 2.5 inches despite the portability.

Battery

This device boasts of the typical Li-Ion battery. This smartphone, despite an average battery life, are able to take moderate calling and standard texting activities.

Camera

The kind of pictures and videos your camera produces does not depend only on megapixels. Depending on the sensor quality and the smartphone's other applications; you have the flexibility to get surprisingly good photography results even with a Yes, 5 megapixels camera. Though it's outmoded considering the latest entrants, yet the Videocon A 31 does feature a 1.3 MP front camera; but no point spending money on a feature that might be of outmoded use to you.

General Features

You get at par accessories such as User Manual, Mobile handset, Battery, Charger, Handsfree, USB Cable, Warranty card in the box, in addition to the Videocon A 31. The handset colour featured here is White. Like most of the popular smartphones in the market, the Videocon A 31 flaunts a touch screen.

Connectivity

The headphone jack of 3.5 mm makes sure that the audio needs are accommodated by this smartphone. The size of the sim in this phone belongs to the Full Size Sim category. The sim type contained in this phone is the Dual Sim. Along with the mobile data, you are able to additionally connect your device to Wi-Fi networks.

Memory

With 32 GB of expandable memory, you don't have to constantly delete heavy files, videos, apps and images to free up the space, most of it can stay for as long as you like; plus the entire extendable storage is available unlike the. Stay off graphic intensive games and applications and the lower internal RAM of this smartphone will suffice. The Videocon A 31 is absolutely compatible with the microSD, which are able to help you boost the internal storage of the device. Only basic utilities are able to be satisfied with such a low internal memory.

Performance

The Android v4.2 (Jelly Bean) operating system is responsible for the pleasurable performance of this device. All the latest apps and trends will be available to you with the typical android operating system. With a 1.2 GHz processor frequency, the Videocon A 31 bids supreme performance. A lower frequency would mean the device would tolerate longer to respond, so for a smoother performance, a higher frequency would be optimal. Most of the popular apps today would run smoothly with the speed offered by the 1.2 GHz processor frequency. If you value your phone's battery life more than speed, then processors with high frequencies and more than one cores may not be the optimal option for you, even though they are the trend today. If your usage of your phone does not involve multi-tasking to a great extent, or you prefer to do just one thing at a time, this smartphone, with a Dual Core processor cores, is more suitable for you. You are able to maximize your phone's battery life to last the whole day and additionally prevent it from heating up, by using one app at a time, or completing one task before going on to another.

Mr. Ajmera's Review (A business user)

It is meaningless fidgeting with a screen that poses real difficulty both while watching videos and typing on the cramped keyboard, the portability that is offered by the smaller screen seems futile against the little value it offers with respect to funct. It is a decent battery life but not for someone like my usage and I constantly on my toes to charge for my phone continuously or dangle a bulky power bank. If you are a road warrior like me then you better rethink your choice.

Mrs. Iyer's Review (A homemaker)

The size of the Videocon A 31 makes it extremely portable, but with its tiny and cramped keypad it's really not of much use to me. I don't like the camera in particular, and I won't be buying the Videocon A 31, however good the other is credited with might be. I will need to delete or transfer photos everyday if I go this Videocon A 31 with its small storage space. The extendable memory of the Videocon A 31 is a good option for me as against the high priced smartphones with high internal memory that also comes with highly confusing boasts of.

Ishan's Review (A geek)

As a smartphone, the screen size of the Videocon A 31 is quite decent; but too tiny when it comes to gaming or reading. Although I would recommend a higher frequency for gaming, the 1.2 GHz is not that bad an option. Dealing with lags and slow load time really makes me impatient when it comes to gaming. An internal RAM this low isn't competent in handling any level of multitasking or gaming. Smartphone storage with such low capacity even for basic apps and programs is really irrelevant. If you have gaming and ebook library as huge as mine, you are able to never say no to an extendable memory storage. The battery does last for 3-4 hours of a graphic-heavy game session, however immediately after this I occasion to put the Videocon A 31 on charging; really can't do much post the session.

Prachi's Review (A social butterfly)

For me the 1.8 inches display is the first thing I noticed in the Videocon A 31. I love texting and all my friends too desire texting over talking, so I find the screen size of the Videocon A 31 is very cramped. The Yes, 5 MP camera resolution is not that cool. You have the flexibility to easily opt for any other smartphone with a better camera, it might even be cheaper. I don't this smartphone have the flexibility to click awesome pictures, which by the way is my favourite hobby. I can't imagine my smartphone without the secondary camera. I and my friends simply love the selfies and groupies and click hundreds of them. It's sometimes strenous to click selfies and groupies with the main camera, so always go for smartphones with good secondary camera. I always forget charging my phone so USB charging via my laptop is really a good option for me and sometimes I even use this port to transfer music and images. Here the Videocon A 31 is quite stingy with the tiny 4 GB. I don't know what it is good for when it have the flexibility to hardly hold any of my media files.
